There is little denying that your skin has a natural glow when you are young. It’s easy for your skin to look radiant when you’re in your teens and twenties. Your body is still producing high levels of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, you’re likely under less stress, and you’ve not had as much opportunity for sun damage.

Unfortunately, the quest for glowing, radiant skin becomes more challenging as the years go by. While this has some to do with genetics and the natural aging process, it has a lot more to do with how your lifestyle choices affect your skin.

Sun damage, smoking, excessive drinking, unhealthy eating habits, sleepless nights, and high-stress situations all leave their marks across your complexion in the way of pigmentation concerns, wrinkles, and overall dullness. And while some of these can be lessened with a few tweaks to your lifestyle, skin damage is hard—if not impossible—to correct on its own.

Fortunately, the Halo™ laser by Sciton® is here to do just that.

What Is Halo™ Used For?

Halo™ uses fractional laser technology to restore youthful radiance by correcting skin irregularities and reversing the damage. This hybrid laser is the first of its kind to combine ablative and non-ablative wavelengths for a comprehensive treatment of the upper and lower tissues of the skin (epidermis and the dermis).

The highly targeted energy of the Halo™ laser system selectively identifies sun damage, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, enlarged pores, and unwanted scars on the face, neck, arms, and hands.

While most laser systems either treat the epidermis or the underlying dermis, the Halo™ laser addresses both, giving your skin the ability to heal from the inside but still shine on the outside.

What Are the Benefits of Halo™?

The device uses two wavelengths of lasers (1470 nm and 2940 nm) to target skin irregularities over multiple tissue layers. This makes the Halo™ treatment beneficial for a broader range of skin concerns compared to other laser systems on the market today.

Results will begin to appear five to seven days after your first Halo™ treatment and last for years.

Some individuals choose to undergo a series of Halo™ laser treatments.

What Is the Halo™ Laser Glow?

The multiple wavelengths in the device combine to restore your complexion by repairing the top layer of skin while heating the tissue underneath. This process promotes collagen production, making the skin stronger and more elastic. This strength will help bring out the Halo™ glow you strive for.

Each treatment is uniquely made to fit your lifestyle. The provider can increase or decrease the intensity of the laser, depending on your desired results.

What Is the Halo™ Treatment Like?

The Halo™ procedure can take up to one hour, depending on the size and number of treatment areas. A topical anesthetic will be applied to the treatment area for your comfort, and you will be provided with protective eye gear. Once the area is numb, the laser handpiece will be moved over the treatment area.

What Should I Expect After the Procedure?

There is minimal to no downtime, but you can expect some redness or peeling to occur after the treatment. Other symptoms, like flaking, swelling, and itching, are also common.

Once the area has healed, you will start to realize healthier, more radiant-looking complexion.
