Eye color is something that individuals have been choosing to change on a temporary basic for decades. However, they have had to rely upon the use of colored contact lenses to accomplish this. For individuals that do not actually struggle with their vision, this has been a major inconvenience.

Could You Change Your Brown Eyes to Blue?

A procedure has been tested that would allow individuals to permanently change their eye color – specifically from brown to blue. The procedure relies upon a laser to target melanin, which causes the brown coloring in the eye. It takes a number of procedures, but in time, the brown pigmentation can be reduced allowing blue to appear.

This new procedure has been tested on patients in clinical trials as well as on cadavers and animals. The procedure must be completed multiple times before the pigment in the iris becomes the blue color desired. This particular procedure is not risk-free as it is possible for patients to experience double vision or issues with glare. The seventeen patients that were included in the clinical trial, however, did not report any side effects.

Enhancing Facial Features Safely

This is not a procedure that is currently offered – though it may be in three years. For now, it is possible to enhance facial characteristics with a number of different FDA approved procedures. Contact us if you would like to learn more.
