After your procedure, bandaging of the breasts will be used to aid in the healing process. A surgical compression garment or support bra should also be worn to promote healing. Most patients feel tired after their procedure and experience mild discomfort. Your chest may feel sore and tight, and you may notice some bruising, swelling, and tenderness. After one week, most patients can resume daily activities, and dissolvable stitches are removed within 10 days. Strenuous exercise and lifting are not recommended for one to two weeks. It can take some patients up to three weeks to feel back to normal, so it is important to rest and follow your post-surgical instructions to ensure a comfortable recovery.
Scars
Scarring should be minimal and concealed on the underside of your breasts. Incision lines tend to start fading after two months and continue to lighten over the next year. You should avoid exposing the incisions to direct sunlight to prevent sunburn or more visible scarring.
