Gummy Bears implants are the fifth generation in silicone breast implants, and are changing the way breast enhancements look and feel in the best way imaginable. They are filled with a high-strength, form-stable silicone gel that is the most cohesive ever available.
Because of this, much like the cute candy bears they’re named after, Gummy Bears are soft and pliable, yet strong and durable. This also means that when Gummy Bears are cut, there is no loss of shape or leakage, making them some of the safest, most advanced breast implants on the market today.
There are a variety or reasons that Gummy Bears are superior to traditional implants:

The ideal candidates for Gummy Bear Breast implants are women who:
The surgery lasts approximately two hours and is usually performed with general anesthesia. Incisions are made in discreet places on the breasts to reduce scar visibility. These may be located in the armpit (transaxillary), in the crease on the underside of the breasts (inframammary), or around the areola – the dark skin around the nipple (periareolar). The breasts are then raised, creating a pocket into which the implant is inserted.
Once the Gummy Bear breast implants have been inserted and positioned beneath the nipples, the incisions are stitched closed, then taped and bandaged. In a few days, the bandages may be substituted with a surgical bra.
Most patients feel sore and tired after getting Gummy Bear implants, but this usually goes away in a few days. Most patients return to work within the week.
Stitches are removed seven to ten days after the procedure. Any post-operative pain, swelling and tenderness will diminish over the first few weeks. Scars from the incisions will begin to fade in a few months and will continue to lessen for months or years after the surgery.
Complications following the surgery are rare and usually insignificant. They might include capsular contracture, swelling and pain, infection around the implant, a change in nipple sensation, milk production (if you nursed a baby within a year before the procedure), and implant rupture as a result of injury or the normal compression and movement of your breasts. Dr. Fiorillo will discuss the risks and benefits of breast enhancement with Gummy Bears during your consultation.
Gummy Bear implants have shown lower rates of complications than their counterparts. The form-stable implants do not wrinkle or fold, which are contributing factors to shell failure in other implants. Because of this, it is thought that Gummy Bear breast implants will show a distinctive longevity advantage.
Gummy Bear implants are FDA-approved and have been available in Europe since 1995 and in Canada since 2000, and are some of the most popular implants on the market in those countries.
