English actor, Daniel Craig, was recently quoted on the possibility that he may need Botox in the near future. Craig, who starred in the two most recent James Bond films, also lends his ability to the 2011 film, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Now at the center of two film series, the actor had something to say about the potential for cosmetic treatment. According to the Press Association, when he was “Asked about the prospect of carrying two franchises, Daniel joked: ‘I’m going to be very old. Botox is going to be in there!’”
Craig’s recent openness says a lot about the way men’s attitudes toward plastic surgery have changed in recent years. Procedures that were once only popular among women are now performed on thousands of men every year. One of these treatments is Botox. Botox—often referred to as “Bro-Tox” among male patients—is the most common cosmetic procedure performed in America according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). The organization reports that nearly 337,000 Botulinum Toxin Type A (ie., Botox and Dysport) procedures were performed on men in 2010.
For those with creases that appear intermittently, such as while smiling or squinting, Botox is often the answer. Botox is essentially a muscle relaxer intended to prevent creases for an overall more youthful and fresh appearance. Of course, with this new interest from men comes new considerations. Male patients want to enhance their appearance without compromising their natural, masculine looks. We can work together to establish your cosmetic goals and find the best treatment options suited to your needs and concerns.
Today, countless men are turning to Cosmetic Surgery as a means of achieving and maintaining a natural, youthful appearance. Many people are not blessed with all of the physical features they desire. With celebrities appearing in magazines and on TV with suddenly fuller lips, individuals may feel as though their own just are not sufficient enough.
It is rumored that many of these celebrities are turning to lip injections and lip augmentations. Injecting synthetic substances into the lip can minimize lines, make the entire mouth look younger, and can give a patient a more youthful appearance.
Factors like smoking, aging and the environment can make the mouth look older with lines and wrinkles and these are effects that can be reversed.
Natural feeling to the lips and mouth is important to patients that are considering lip augmentation. Fortunately, synthetic lip fillers that are put into the lips by a trained practitioner via a needle offer a natural look and feel. The body eventually absorbs the materials and sometimes a second or third procedure must be done to upkeep the look. However, each injection can last a number of months before anything additional is necessary.
Lip injections are not considered a serious cosmetic procedure.
Minimal side effects may occur, such as:
The side effects of lip injections are minimal since the procedures only take a few minutes to perform. Generally, a surgeon will apply a topical anesthetic to the patient’s lips to numb the area for a pain-free process. Sometimes the injections themselves contain local anesthetic so no topical numbing is required. Patients can resume normal activity the same day as this outpatient procedure.

Business thrives on competition. In order to succeed, many executives are now focusing more on their outward appearance in addition to their inner knowledge. Young and fresh faces can sometimes become a threat to those who have been working hard for many years in their particular industry. A new trend is on the rise for executives and highly paid professionals to receive cosmetic surgery.
Most people want to look as good as they feel; so many high paid executives are now flocking towards cosmetic procedures to give them an extra boost in competitive fields. A fresh outlook physically gives men and women a boost in confidence, as they feel like they can look as good as their younger rivals.
Some cosmetic surgeons are surprised at the number of executives who are receiving outpatient procedures on their lunch hours! A few years back, many people would opt for plastic surgery and the recovery time would be lengthy. As procedures are becoming more and more advanced, plastic surgery outpatient recovery is conveniently speedy.
Even though there is still a recession in the United States, there has not been a real decline in plastic surgery use. Most likely, this is due to the fact that it is now more critical than ever for executives to compete against their younger competitors and thrive in an economic downturn. Quick outpatient procedures such as Botox and microdermabrasion are now readily available, and require little to no pain and recovery on the patient’s behalf. People are finding the benefits to looking their best through cosmetic surgery is both painless and worth the extra money to look better.
Although statistics show that women are still more likely to get a cosmetic procedure than men, there are an increasing number of male patients now opting for plastic surgery. Men are no longer embarrassed to admit they want to look the best they can. The most commonly requested procedures from men are rhinoplasty and liposuction.
New developments in the industry may also increase the types of procedures that men are opting for. As research and technology continues to develop, plastic surgery is becoming more and more advanced. Stem cell research has even made a breakthrough in cosmetic procedures, and may soon be able to replace Botox and fillers. Using one’s own stem cells as opposed to synthetic materials being injected into the body will become a preferred naturalistic approach to millions. New fat burning and freezing procedures that are non surgical are also being researched, eliminating surgery altogether. As the industry continues to blossom, so do the advantages of cosmetic applications and procedures. All of these mentioned procedures can be performed by Dr. Fiorillo.

Most Americans interested in plastic surgery are aware that black market procedures happen overseas, and while they offer cheap alternatives, there are great risks. What many may not know is that there is black market plastic surgery happening on US soil as well where unqualified physicians are performing procedures, or using illegal and unsafe medical supplies. Over the years, a number of so-called medical practitioners have put their patients at risk – perhaps the most noteable being the case of buttox enhancement injections that landed 6 women in the hospital due to severe complications. Doctors involved in black market plastic surgery are prosecuted once caught, but they are still out there as long as there’s individuals willing to take the risk for a cheap procedure.
You may found the price of black market plastic surgery appealing, but there are some risks that you face due to the following:
Just because a plastic surgeon operates in the US, doesn’t mean that black market surgery is any safer than it is overseas. Recognize that going to a reputable, qualified plastic surgeon can save your life and give you the results you want.
