October Is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Posted December 06, 2022 in Health & Fitness, by Dr. Fiorillo

Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month we’re going to turn some of our focus towards health topics. Breast cancer is an illness that affects many women (and some men), regardless of whether or not they have had plastic surgery. Both the idea that breast cancer is more predominant in women with breast implants, and that having breast implants reduces the the likelihood of getting breast cancer are not only contradictory, they are myths.

There are various risk factors that can influence the onset of breast cancer in women. They include different elements of lifestyle and genetics. Proper screening and an understanding of the illness can help prevent, or detect and stop breast cancer in its tracks.

Throughout the month of October, we’ll explore risks, prevention and other important breast cancer awareness information that can save lives!
