Recently, Dr. Fiorillo and I were invited to Dallas for a weekend to see where the implants used for breast augmentation are made! I equate my excitement to Charlie and the oh-so-famous chocolate factory….seriously….children= candy….woman= breast implants, lol.

Let me start by saying Dallas is a beautiful city and truly heartland of America. I find that a company like Mentor that generates its product in America and employs Americans is hard to come by these days. The plant was pristine and designed for tours. It kind of has the philosophy of a restaurant with an open kitchen…nothing to hide!! They company allows the visitor to view and be apart of the implant start to finish. All the sterile areas have clear walls so you can see the whole process from the creation of the implant shell and its many coats to packaging.  The employees walk around in those white spacesuits too. It was very interesting to see the history of breast implants throughout the years.

Our visit that weekend also include very informative lectures on silicone implants and FDA studies. Did you know that you get more silicone absorption from underarm deoderant and other household products than from silicone breast implants?!

Mentor also offers an amazing skincare line called NIA24. The molecular structure of this cream allows it to penetrate the skin as well as create a layer on top of the skin for further protection and correction.  The reason I say “amazing” is because I have been using NIA for the past year or so and I will never go back to using anything else. My skin is clear, the tone is even, and it feels nourished. I grew up in a beach community, so years of sun damage have taken its toll. This product has corrected that damage and protects against future damage.
