Plastic surgery will always be popular, especially in Hollywood. Some women and men understand the ins and outs of plastic surgery and do it tastefully to satisfy their desires to look a certain way. Others are questioned for their decisions, like Heidi Montag who seems to flip-flop on how she feels about her experience with plastic surgery.
Since last summer, there has been a lot of media scrutiny on The Hills star Heidi Montag for her ten stints of major plastic surgery. Although Heidi Montag may unfortunately have regrets about her surgery results that cannot be undone, she was required as a patient of aesthetic surgery to do some research before altering her appearance in such a drastic measure. It is this that has caused yet another person to speak out against Heidi Montag; the mother of late Dr. Ryan that performed the star’s surgery.
It’s important to know that professional and reputable plastic surgeons will have extensive and numerous consults with their clients before engaging in any enhancement surgeries. Heidi may now regret her results, but the doctor’s mother says it is unreasonable to place the fault upon the surgeon who can no longer speak for himself.

How it Works
The active ingredient in Latisse is bimatoprost. This special ingredient will promote the growth of longer and fuller eyelashes. The treatment will not replace the need for mascara; however, the treatment will produce longer and darker lashes. You may wish to apply mascara after the treatment to further enhance your eyes.
Latisse should be applied on a routine basis with precision. Each night, the medication should be applied to the lashes and only after all makeup and contact lenses have been removed.
The product is applied by using a disposable applicator that contains one drop of the solution. Apply this to the skin at the base of the upper eyelashes. Make sure to blot any excess solution from the area. Be sure to only use each applicator once and never try to catch up on a missed application. Stay on a schedule and apply Latisse each night to achieve beautiful lashes.

With the economic rebound that has been experienced over the past year, more people are having plastic surgery procedures, with the amount of surgeries having increased by 5% from 2009. This is the first increase in the industry since the recession began.
In 2010, the most popular procedure performed was breast augmentation. Nearly 300,000 Americans had this procedure, which was followed by thousands of people getting eyelid surgery, tummy tucks and liposuction. Of all non-surgical procedures, Botox was at the top of the list.
It seems as though these people were waiting to have some extra financial resources available before they made the commitment to their surgeries. Now that the economy is slowly rising, people have a little more money available and plan on spending it in ways that will improve their appearances and self-esteem.
It is believed that there will continue to be an increase in the amount of plastic surgeries performed over the next year as people continue to get their finances in order. Consumers are willing to spend their money to look better, so a recovering economy is great news to the cosmetic surgery industry.

Although the Food and Drug Administration has begun an investigation linking breast cancer and breast implants, it cannot be concluded that the two are related. Though there are rare cases relating breast cancer to silicone implants, one cannot conclude that all breast implants will cause cancer.
A new form of cancer called Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma has been getting a lot of bad media press due to its relation with implants. Cancer is so complex, and can be caused by many different factors, including genetics, environment, and lifestyle. Studies are inconclusive and cannot prove without a doubt that cancer is linked to silicone breast implants.
Times are changing and technology is getting smarter. People are becoming more aware of the risks and dangers of the actions they take on a daily basis. You hear it all over the news – millions of different things are causing cancer as more and more studies are being conducted. Red dyes used in different foods are cancerous. Staying out in the sun too long causes cancer. Talking on a mobile phone will eventually cause cancer. Radiation from your microwave will cause cancer. Whether it’s the food that we eat, our genetics, or repercussions of our daily activities, cancer is an ever-changing and growing disease that cannot be blamed on just one specific aspect.
Although there is a rare cancer link that is related to saline or silicone based breast implants, doctors are aware of its risks but continue to do surgeries because they are safe. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery claims that breast implants are not a health hazard. Millions of people have breast implant surgery, making this an $800 million dollar business every year. It cannot be concluded that everyone that has chosen to get implants will get cancer. And if there are cases related to cancer and implants, it is usually cured by removing the implants and undergoing chemotherapy and or radiation for a short period of time. It is also claimed that ALCL cancer is more moderate than regular breast cancer with no implants.
According to the National Institute for Health, fewer than five percent of women under 40 will get breast cancer. Although breast cancer is a growing concern for millions of women worldwide, it cannot be said that if one chooses to undergo breast augmentation, they will be guaranteed to get cancer someday. Breast augmentation is a personal choice. Millions of women have the surgery every year without problems, and are generally satisfied with the results both aesthetically and health-wise.

Voted the sexiest woman alive by Esquire magazine, Christina Hendricks has taken the skinny anorexic look of Britain’s high fashion society and put it to bed. With her voluptuous curves and knock out looks, this Mad Men diva is said to have caused uproar for plastic surgery in the United Kingdom. Statistics from the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons suggest that women having breast implant surgery jumped more than ten percent last year. Hendricks’ influence is apparently partially responsible for the statistical increase in breast augmentation surgery.
The hourglass look is definitely more popular than the waif-like look of last year. Women are embracing their curves, which is beneficial for a more positive influence on our younger generations. These statistics are surprising due to the economic downturn of the United States and the rest of the world, Britain included. Breast implants happen to be the most popular surgery in Britain; therefore many women are embracing looking more aesthetically plump than thin.
Plastic surgery is said to be in a great state of blossom since 2009, and will continue to increase in popularity amongst both female and male patients. Body parts that are more noticeable seem to influence this growing change of aesthetic alteration. For example, breast implants are still popular, but larger ears are now being covered with longer haircuts.
Media that scrutinizes skinny models and actresses are now being replaced by appreciative voices praising the fuller figure. Christina Hendricks of the hit show Mad Men says this is a positive thing for generations to come, and it shouldn’t come as such a shock that a regular sized voluptuous woman should influence such positive media. Curvy role models send out a much more realistic and reassuring body type message than unhealthy and overly thin ones.
When Christina first arrived in Hollywood, the actress was told that she was much too overweight to win any starring roles. I’ll bet those producers are kicking themselves now, seeing how Ms. Hendricks’ reputation for beauty and sexiness has taken the world by surprise. Mad Men’s 1960s curve and cocktail nature really helped the redheaded sexy actress succeed. Hendricks also concedes that body types are beautiful no matter if they are large or small, fat or thin.

Most Americans interested in plastic surgery are aware that black market procedures happen overseas, and while they offer cheap alternatives, there are great risks. What many may not know is that there is black market plastic surgery happening on US soil as well where unqualified physicians are performing procedures, or using illegal and unsafe medical supplies. Over the years, a number of so-called medical practitioners have put their patients at risk – perhaps the most noteable being the case of buttox enhancement injections that landed 6 women in the hospital due to severe complications. Doctors involved in black market plastic surgery are prosecuted once caught, but they are still out there as long as there’s individuals willing to take the risk for a cheap procedure.
You may found the price of black market plastic surgery appealing, but there are some risks that you face due to the following:
Just because a plastic surgeon operates in the US, doesn’t mean that black market surgery is any safer than it is overseas. Recognize that going to a reputable, qualified plastic surgeon can save your life and give you the results you want.
